Description
The ECNP incorporates individually designed exercise and task-oriented movement training programs in a group setting for adults with neurological conditions. People with any neurological condition (e.g., stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's Disease, traumatic brain injury, cerebral palsy, etc.) are welcome to join the program, provided they are medically stable and cleared by a physician to perform exercise.
The sessions run on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the course of a university term. All participant programs are specifically designed to meet the individual's goals, with elements of cardiorespiratory fitness, strength training, flexibility, balance, coordination, and task-oriented movement training. Participants may be assisted by a family member or caregiver in completion of ECNP activities. Undergraduate student volunteers will also assist with program delivery when appropriate. A University of Regina Fitness & Lifestyle membership will be included with registration for the duration of the program's semester upon visiting the Client Services office (CK 170) to obtain a membership card. Program orientations are available on request.
